Our Capabilities.

  • Precision Tube Forming

Cold forming the connections of fluid handling assemblies eliminates costs in machined components and reduces leak paths by eliminating the number of joints in an assembly.

Stark is capable of cold forming (end forming) aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and copper assemblies. These capabilities include complex connection geometries such as VDA, and other quick connect designs as well O-ring face seal (ORFS) and slimline connections.

  • CNC Tube Bending

Utilizing rotary draw, CNC bending equipment, Stark is able of producing a wide range of volumes and mix of bend geometry while maintaining high equipment utilization. This minimizes the need for capital expenditures on new programs, allowing more flexibility and lower investment costs when design changes are needed to improve or modify the routing of an assembly, or to quickly shift to succession platforms.

For especially high volume applications, Stark can design and fabricate dedicated bending equipment to optimize cycle times.

  • Brazing

Similar to more commonly known welding or soldering metal joining methods, brazing offers unmatched joint strength without adversely affecting the properties of the parent metal that can be an issue when welding. Because brazing is performed at a lower temperature, there is not a heat affected zone to create issues with joint integrity.

While able to create a very strong and reliable joint, there are multiple variables in the brazing process that must be controlled to ensure reliability and repeatability. Stark Manufacturing was founded as an innovator in aluminum brazing and continues to be a leader the brazing of steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper fluid handling assemblies.

  • Crimping

Mechanical joining, typically referred to as crimping with respect to fluid handling assemblies, is the joining of two lines by mechanical force.

In fluid conveyance assemblies, this is typically used to connect a metallic line to a thermoplastic or elastomer (hose) line. Using custom bent metallic lines in conjunction with hose assemblies allows for higher levels of customization and can be used to reduce costs while increasing durability.

Stark has experience in crimping hydraulic, coolant, and HVAC assemblies.

  • CNC Machining

Stark offers CNC machining both as a standalone capability as well as a way to vertically integrate the manufacturing of fluid handling assemblies. The ability to internally machine components shortens leads time to production and reduces risks in today's volatile supply supply chain.

Stark runs multiple CNC mills and lathes and is capable of producing products in range of volumes by incorporating programming and workholding solutions that optimize efficiency and equipment utilization.

  • Leak Testing

In the manufacture of fluid conveyance assemblies, leak tightness is the highest priority. Stark utilizes mass spectrometry helium leak testing to detect even the most minute leaks in an assembly. The level of sensitivity and precision of such leak testing equipment meets the most demanding applications, including those required in the HVAC system. As the switch to newer refrigerants continues, leak testing has become even more critical in this sector, not only for system performance, but now for safety and environmental compliance.
